About & sources

One performer jumps between recognizable dance styles as the soundtrack changes, compressing a pop-cultural dance tour into a single comic routine.

Date

Judson Laipply stage-performance medley, uploaded to YouTube in 2006.

History

The selected 2006 marks the routine’s YouTube release, not the invention of the dances or release of the songs it samples. Know Your Meme credits motivational speaker Judson Laipply and describes the recording as the finale of his Inspirational Comedy show, a medley he used to close appearances. It dates his YouTube upload to April 6, 2006; that precise date is retrospective-source-attributed, not independently verified here. The appeal rests on rapid musical transitions and physical imitation rather than a reusable caption template. This representative stage still cannot preserve the choreography, soundtrack or comic timing. No playable video or music is hosted. Performance, recording and music rights remain with their respective holders; private display and attribution do not clear public reuse.
