History

The selected year marks online circulation, not a verified choreography creation date. Know Your Meme’s retrospective account identifies music teacher and choreographer John Jacobson and says the instructional video originated in an August/September edition of Music Express, without specifying that issue’s year. It dates a YouTube upload to December 6, 2010 and subsequent web coverage to December 8. Its account also describes replacement-background and replacement-audio parodies, and a 2011 sequel called Double Dream Feet. These are attributed chronology points, not independently authenticated first-upload or measured popularity claims. This representative instructional-video still is not a playable preservation of the dance or music. Public performance does not confer unrestricted permission to reuse a person’s likeness, music or footage; public reuse rights remain uncleared. Private research preview only.
