History

The selected 2006 marks the music video, not the first performance of the Kelly character. Know Your Meme describes Liam Kyle Sullivan incorporating Kelly into his live comedy in 2005, posting the full video with its opening skit on his website in 2006, and uploading a shortened YouTube version on May 5, 2006. It dates the full-version YouTube upload to February 2007. These are source-attributed dates from a retrospective account, not independently established first-ever occurrences. Kelly is a performed fictional character, not documentary footage of an unsuspecting shopper. The original comedy contains profanity and exaggerated gender/consumer stereotypes.
