A photographed Hunger Games passage about salty soup and tears is paired with WOW KATNISS THATS DEEP and puppet Snape’s sad oatmeal diary.

Snape reviews the literature

The upper passage makes lunch emotionally significant; the reply counters with Snape turning bland breakfast into a miniature tragedy. Putting the two together makes the puppet an unexpectedly severe literary critic.

Underlying puppet performance by Neil Cicierega; book passage and imagery remain with their owners.

The faucet and handles give the written lol an absurd physical presence. Ron reacts as if an ordinary bathroom fixture has personally mocked him: a microscopic incident performed as a major betrayal.

About & sources

Familiar wizard characters become comic puppets, moving from Flash animation to filmed performances and inspiring fan-made responses.

Date

Neil Cicierega’s Harry Potter parody series, beginning as Flash animation.

History

The selected 2003 marks the series’ reported beginning, not the release of its later best-known live-action videos. Know Your Meme dates Neil Cicierega’s first Flash episode, Bothering Snape, to late 2003; that chronology is retrospective-source-attributed. Albino Blacksheep independently lists Bothering Snape and credits Neil Cicierega, but its fetched page does not establish the date. The history distinguishes the first live-action videos in September 2006 from The Mysterious Ticking Noise in March 2007. Fan response animations are later adaptations, not all original episodes by Cicierega. This representative cast-and-crew photograph is not a frame from the first Flash animation or playable preservation of any episode. No video or audio is hosted. Parody, character, performance and photograph rights remain with their respective holders; private display and attribution do not clear public reuse.
