They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard

A mock film poster with Legolas and the tower of Isengard: “THEY HAVE TAKEN THE HOBBITS TO ISENGARD,” with TAKEN in huge orange letters.

Middle-earth gets a different movie poster

The familiar sentence hides a second film title in plain sight. Enlarging “Taken” recasts the report as a rescue-thriller poster, while Legolas and the tower keep the destination unmistakably in Middle-earth. A fan-made crossover, not an official film poster.

A surprising destination for a transfer announcement

The caption starts like an athlete announcing his next move, then sends the career to a fortress in a fantasy world. The destination is enough to summon the hobbit refrain. This is a caption joke, not an actual statement or travel plan by James.

Thank you for the extremely specific update

The grand frame promises wisdom. The tiny subtitle instead delivers the familiar logistical update, very calmly and without a new revelation. The contrast between formal presentation and repetitive information is the joke; the pictured group is not evidence that every character is captured in the same scene.

About & sources

A serious fantasy-film report becomes a dance-like refrain: clipped dialogue, repeating faces and a musical loop turn Legolas’s destination into the whole joke.

Date

Erwin Beekveld; 2005 web remix of dialogue from the 2002 film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

History

The selected 2005 is the remix year reported by Know Your Meme, not the 2002 release of the source film or the later YouTube repost. Albino Blacksheep independently credits Erwin Beekveld. The retrospective history lists an August 18 Albino Blacksheep submission but an August 12 YTMND page in the same year; that ordering does not establish a reliable first-publication day, so this exhibit makes no such claim. Its history also documents Orlando Bloom performing along with the remix in 2013, a later return rather than its origin. The preview is an uncaptioned still of Legolas outdoors with his quiver, used as representative source-entry artwork, not playable preservation of the editing or music. Film footage, dialogue, music and remix contributions retain their respective rights; private display and attribution do not authorize public reuse.
