About & sources

A Eurobeat track becomes a reusable soundtrack for speed, improbable driving and energetic video edits.

Date

Max Coveri song released in 1998; selected November 2009 YouTube upload is a documented online checkpoint, not the first meme.

History

Know Your Meme documents a November 3, 2009 YouTube upload by JoeDutchCoast and subsequent 2010s YTMND and YouTube remixes. This exhibit selects that upload as a documented circulation checkpoint, not the first online use or the song’s release. The underlying Max Coveri recording dates to 1998 and is associated with the racing anime Initial D. The musical joke works by lending racing intensity to a new scene. This representative anime-car still is not playable music, a video or a driving demonstration. Anime imagery and recording rights remain with their respective holders; public reuse rights are not established. Private research preview only; no affiliation or endorsement.
