About & sources

An ordinary fall or jump becomes a cosmic journey when editors send the subject drifting through space to Bag Raiders’ synth-pop track.

Date

Bag Raiders song (2008 EP / 2009 single); falling-through-space remix wave in 2017.

History

The selected year marks the 2017 falling-through-space remix wave, not the song’s creation. Know Your Meme traces the track to Bag Raiders’ 2008 Turbo Love EP and a 2009 standalone single, with meme uses before 2017. Its retrospective chronology describes a late-January 2017 surge followed by edits that place falling subjects against cosmic backgrounds. This archive does not independently authenticate a first-ever remix. The joke relies on a sudden change of setting and musical timing; the representative still cannot preserve the edit or soundtrack and is not a playable video archive. Real people appear in remix footage: inclusion is not consent for ridicule or republication. Music, footage and likeness rights remain uncleared for public reuse; private research preview only.
