About & sources

A racing-anime soundtrack becomes a comic accelerator: familiar Eurobeat turns ordinary movement into an exaggerated drifting scene.

Date

Dave Rodgers song released in 1999; selected April 2016 Eurobeat compilation is a documented remix checkpoint, not the recording release or definitive first meme.

History

Know Your Meme traces the song to a November 1999 compilation and its appearance in Initial D Second Stage in January 2000. Its online chronology documents an April 18, 2016 Eurobeat/Initial D compilation using the song and a June 11, 2016 video titled “I’ve just been in this meme before.” This exhibit selects the documented 2016 remix checkpoint, not the original recording or a definitive first meme. The fast soundtrack and racing association give unrelated footage a mock high-speed mood. This representative anime still is not playable music, animation or a complete remix. Music and animation rights remain with their respective holders; public reuse rights are not established. Private research preview only; no affiliation or endorsement.
